John Mayo has been a music educator in Nebraska since 2005. He graduated from Midland University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Music Education and a minor in Youth and Family Ministry. He earned his Master of Music Degree with an endorsement in Music Education from the University of Nebraska Omaha. As the current music educator for Boys Town Schools and the Boys Town Chambers Chapel music director, John is proficient on all band instruments, but specializes in Low Brass Wind Instruments.
John has been the director of the First Lutheran Church Choir of Oakland and has served as a member of many performing ensembles such as the Burt County Brass Quintet (a founding member), Oakland Evangelical Free Church Worship Team, Norfolk Men’s Chorus, Northeast College Community Band, Blair Community Band and the Papillion Area Community Band. He enjoys spending time with his family, going to live performances, playing card/board games and watching movies.
