Glen Cecil Smith earned his Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance from the legendary
University of North Texas. He has been a touring musician and professional educator for 25
years. He has performed in all 50 States, Canada, Mexico, Italy, Spain and many more
countries around the world. In addition to learning the instrument of your choice, Glen’s students
can receive additional education in technique, music theory and songwriting. Many of his more
advanced students acquire career planning, practical professional advice and goal setting
strategies. Many beginners, returning students, adults and seasoned professionals find benefits
from their time with Glen as well as friendship and mentorship. Many of his students are adults
and professionals picking up music later in life.
Glen has been coming to Dietze since he was 8 years old and studying piano and guitar.
Currently Glen:
Maintains a teaching studio of 60 – 70 students per week
Records and tours with Grammy award winning Mannheim Steamroller
Performs locally with Taxi Driver

Past Playing Experience:
He has played in the Yardapes, Musico, The Labels and Farmer Brown. He has Shared the
Stage with 311, The Byrds, Sprawl, Happy Dog, Square, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, The
Dead Milkmen, The Nadas, Inclined, and other popular acts. Classical experience with The
Omaha and Lincoln Symphonies, The Dallas Opera, The Fort Worth Symphony, North Texas
Lab bands, Nebraska Jazz Orchestra, Russ Morgan Orchestra, Bobby Layne Orchestra, Guy
Lombardo Band and Doc Severinsen. He has also performed with: Ray Charles, War, Bruce
Hornsby, Michael Martin Murphy, Mstislav Rostropovich, Joshua Bell and many others.
