Fender Custom Shop 1951 Nocaster® Relic®

If the Closet Classic is a guitar that looks like it’s been well-loved over the decades, the Relic is one that looks like it’s been everywhere — and has the wear marks to prove it. The Fender Custom Shop 1951 Nocaster Relic takes the same meticulous vintage recreation as its sibling and pushes the aging process further, resulting in a Faded Aged Nocaster Blonde finish that looks and feels like a genuine piece of 1951 history pulled from a road-worn case. This is the Nocaster for players who want their guitar to look as if it’s already lived a life worth talking about.

Key Features

  • Body: 2-piece select ash with offset seam, finished in Faded Aged Nocaster® Blonde nitrocellulose lacquer with full Relic® treatment
  • Neck: 1-piece rift-sawn maple with authentic 1951 “U” profile — chunky, substantial, and immediately distinctive
  • Fretboard: 1-piece rift-sawn maple, 7.25″–9.5″ vintage compound radius, 21 Jescar vintage frets, black micarta dot inlays
  • Nut: Bone, 1.625″ width
  • Pickups: Custom Shop hand-wound ’51 Nocaster® single-coils in both neck and bridge positions
  • Switching: 3-position blade — bridge alone (with blend control), neck with no tone control, neck with preset deep rhythm tone
  • Controls: Master volume, bridge/neck blend (position 1 only), knurled chrome knobs
  • Bridge: 3-saddle ’51 Nocaster® with brass saddles
  • Hardware: Vintage-style Fender® logo tuning machines, 1-ply black phenolic pickguard, bone nut, vintage-style disc string tree
