Fender Custom Shop 1969 Stratocaster® Journeyman Relic® — Faded Shoreline Gold

By 1969, the Stratocaster had already conquered rock ‘n’ roll — Hendrix had just played Woodstock, and the Strat’s place in history was cemented forever. The Fender Custom Shop 1969 Stratocaster Journeyman Relic captures that late-’60s magic in a stunning Faded Shoreline Gold finish with a Journeyman aging treatment that strikes the perfect balance — not brand new, not beat to death, but beautifully and naturally worn, just like a well-loved guitar from that era would look today.

Key Features

  • Body: 2-piece select alder with offset seam, finished in Faded Shoreline Gold nitrocellulose lacquer with Journeyman Relic® aging
  • Neck: Plain-grain maple with substantial 1969 “U” profile — chunky, vintage, and full of character
  • Fretboard: Maple, 9.5″ radius with 21 Vintage Upgrade frets for comfortable playability with authentic vintage feel
  • Nut: Bone
  • Pickups: Custom Shop hand-wound ’69 single-coil in the neck, reverse-wound/reverse-polarity (RWRP) ’69 single-coil in the middle for hum-cancelling in positions 2 and 4, and a hot Custom Shop hand-wound ’69 single-coil in the bridge — together delivering iconic, bell-like Strat tone
  • Switching: 5-way blade with Fat ’50s Strat® wiring and 1/2 blender for a wide range of classic and blended vintage tones
  • Bridge: Custom Shop Vintage synchronized tremolo
  • Hardware: Vintage “F” style tuning machines, American Vintage ’65 string tree, 3-ply parchment pickguard, bone nut
